Because there was no bait in the trap the only thing that lured him in had to be his curiosity. The shining metal, the teetering platform, who knows what it was, but it only took one time and he was caught. Now I will take him for a ride in the car. I wonder if he is curious about where he is going to go?

Curiosity Caught the Rat
We have one of those live catch traps that I often set near the fountain. I usually carefully gather mesquite pods and place them as bait inside the trap. After several days without any success, I had to place the trap on top of the big rock to get it out of the way while I did some other work. This morning when I looked, I noticed that I had captured a customer--a big pack rat.

Because there was no bait in the trap the only thing that lured him in had to be his curiosity. The shining metal, the teetering platform, who knows what it was, but it only took one time and he was caught. Now I will take him for a ride in the car. I wonder if he is curious about where he is going to go?

What you have to do is spray paint them pink, so you can see if they can curiously find their way back home.
